Witting sample

“Characters”

Purpose: To describe an interesting character so we can tell a story about them at the Marae stay.

WALT: Entertain (character description)

Task:

Think of a character you could write about.

Draw them.  

Introduce your character in an entertaining way.

Describe their looks.  

Describe their personality.  

I think/feel statement (Conclusion / Summary)


Criteria: I can

Descriptive vocabulary (words that help to SHOW the reader)

  • use a range of verbs

Language features (phrases that help paint a picture)

  • select one or two similes

  • use onomatopoeia to show sounds

  • select words that start with the same sound (alliteration)

My writing is 2-3 paragraphs (100 - 200 words)

Godzilla 2.                                                                                                                  

Godzilla is tough but not tough enough.
Godzilla is to strong for the bad guys.
He has a flaming tail of steel and the skin of a dragon.
He has titanium spicks and raiser shap teeth.
His feet are as big as a school bus.
He can breathe out hot hot lava.
He loves fitting bad guy's. 
The bad guy's always die 'ha 'ha' ha.
He is sad that he has no family 
I'm glad that Godzilla is strong but some poeple think that he is a menist but he's a GOOD GUY

  1. Woah Godzilla sounds pretty fearsome! I'm glad he's on our side! You have used great descriptive words to describe your character. Your writing would really benefit from having different sentence beginnings. Try swapping some of your sentences around to have a go: "He has titanium spicks and raiser shap teeth." to:
    "Spikes as tough as titanium and razor-sharp teeth clutter his mouth."
